This notice explains what information Hawser Risk Partners LLC ("Hawser", "we") collects through hawserrisk.com, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website only. Work we do for clients is governed by the agreement for that engagement.
Who we are
Hawser Risk Partners LLC, Seattle, Washington. For anything about this notice or your information, email [email protected].
What we collect
Information you give us
- Start a conversation form: your name, work email, organization, and, if you choose, your role, your company website, a phone number, the topics you pick and a note.
- Email: whatever you include when you write to us.
- Booking a time: if you use our booking link, you enter your details on Google's booking page, under Google's privacy policy.
Information collected automatically
- Hosting and security: like every website, ours receives technical details with each visit: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Our host, Cloudflare, uses these to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Spam protection: the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated bots. It may check browser signals and store a small token in your browser.
- Site statistics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't build a profile of you, and doesn't follow you across other sites.
Cookies: we don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our host may set cookies that are strictly necessary for security.
How we use it
- To reply to you and arrange a conversation.
- To run, secure and improve the website.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don't sell your information, we don't share it for advertising, and we don't add you to a mailing list. If we ever offer email updates, we'll ask first.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the site and our email, acting on our instructions:
- Cloudflare (hosting, security, spam protection, site statistics, and delivering form submissions to our inbox)
- Google Workspace (our email and calendar)
We may also disclose information if the law requires it. Links to other sites, such as LinkedIn or the reports we cite, are governed by those sites' own policies.
Other companies on this site: Cloudflare's spam check on the form and Google's booking page receive information directly from your browser when you use them. No advertising networks or cross-site trackers collect information through this site.
Confidentiality
We treat what you tell us about your organization as confidential. We don't share it outside Hawser, except with the service providers listed above or where the law requires. If you'd like a confidentiality agreement in place before sharing more detail, tell us.
How long we keep it
Form submissions and emails are kept in our inbox only as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for no more than 24 months after our last contact, unless they become part of an engagement or you ask us to delete them sooner.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 45 days. To protect your information, we may need to confirm it's you first, for example by replying to the email address you used. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law. We won't treat you differently for asking.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: we don't track visitors across websites or sell personal information, so these browser signals don't change how this site works. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request not to sell or share your information.
Children
This website is for business audiences. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Visitors outside the United States
We're based in the United States, and our service providers may process information here and in other countries.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), stores no form submissions itself, and collects only what is needed to reply to you. No method of transmission is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive material through the form, such as client data or details of security weaknesses. We can agree a safer way to share it.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. We won't use information we already hold in a materially different way without asking you first.
